Egypt, Canada discuss trade, investment cooperation

Egyptian Ambassador to Canada Ahmed Abu Zeid and adviser to the Canadian Prime Minister for Defense and Political Affairs Dan Costello discussed ways of boosting bilateral relations and enhancing mechanisms of coordination and consultations towards regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The meeting also tackled repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis on global economy in light of the current food crisis and price rise of basic commodities.

The two sides also discussed suggestions to boost economic and political partnership between the two countries within the coming period.

The Egyptian diplomat updated the Canadian official on plans by members of the Egyptian-Canadian business council to visit Canada within the coming few weeks to mull trade and investment cooperation.
