Egypt and Germany Strengthen Ties in Labor Mobility and Technical Training

Cairo: Egypt's Deputy Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Ambassador Nabil Habashi, recently engaged in discussions with Ingrid Gabriela Hofen, Director General of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and her delegation. The focus of the talks was on enhancing cooperation in labor mobility and technical training between the two nations.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions centered on the expansion of the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (EGC). This center has been identified as a successful model of bilateral collaboration, offering safe and orderly migration pathways. Ambassador Habashi emphasized the necessity of creating regular job opportunities within the German labor market to help reduce irregular migration. He called for stronger partnerships with German federal states and the private sector in both countries to support the qualification of the Egyptian workforce and to open new avenues for employment and training.

Hofen, representing Germany, expressed a strong interest in building on the positive outcomes achieved in recent years, particularly in migration-related cooperation. She highlighted the importance of ensuring the sustainability of joint projects to serve the interests of both countries effectively.
