Cairo Water Week: A Global Platform for Water Security and Development

Cairo: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam emphasized that the Cairo Water Week (CWW) has emerged as a crucial platform for scientific discourse and dialogue, enabling officials, experts, and decision-makers from across the globe to exchange expertise and bolster joint efforts towards achieving water security and sustainable development worldwide.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation reported that Minister Sewilam received a comprehensive briefing from Walid Haqqi, Head of the Planning Sector and CEO of Cairo Water Week, regarding the preparations for the 8th edition of Cairo Water Week. This event is slated to occur from October 12 to 16 under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.Currently, there are 111 sessions registered from over 20 regional and international organizations. Additionally, a gathering of the Board of Governors of the World Water Council is scheduled for October 11, 2025, as a preliminary event to the c onference.The scientific committee responsible for the week has finalized the first phase of evaluations, approving 116 research abstracts. To date, they have received 54 extended abstracts and 22 complete research papers, all of which are undergoing evaluation by the committee.
