Cairo: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has announced new appointments in the information technology (IT) field. Mohamed Mahmoud Abou El Magd Mansour was appointed as the Assistant Chairman for Information Technology at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). Mostafa Ahmed Hamdy Ali Ibrahim El-Asar was appointed as the Assistant Chairman for Digital Operations at Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI).

According to State Information Service Egypt, in order to strengthen operational sites with qualified personnel and facilitate the exchange of expertise to support future strategic goals, the Minister has also recently approved a reshuffle and a series of new appointments across the oil and gas sector. This includes a new Deputy Chairman of EGPC, assistant chairmen, and general managers for administrative affairs at select petroleum and mineral resources companies.
