Aswan: Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project Ahmed el Sobky announced a significant healthcare advancement in Aswan governorate with an agreement reached to establish a Center of Excellence for Cancer Treatment, in collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the partnership also includes the development of an Integrated Practice Unit (IPU), a specialized care model that focuses on integrated and patient-centered services. These developments represent a major step forward in specialized healthcare delivery, highlighting the importance of international expertise and the application of the latest global models in cancer care.
The announcement came during a high-level meeting between Sobky and Ahmed Sami el Hofi, Regional President of Janssen, a Johnson and Johnson company, overseeing Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Libya, and Ethiopia. During the meeting, both parties reached a preliminary agreement to launch a dedicated digital platform that provides real-time access to the latest medical treatments and innovations.
This platform will serve as a valuable tool for medical professionals within the GAH to stay updated with global advancements, thereby enhancing clinical efficiency and significantly improving the patient care experience. Sobky asserted that this collaboration extends beyond oncology. It will also support scientific research and the introduction of cutting-edge treatments in several specialized areas, notably immunological diseases and mental health, in addition to providing innovative therapies for rare diseases.
This approach aims to elevate the standard of healthcare services and align them with international benchmarks.
