12.1% of Egyptians pleased with electronic birth certificate service Poll

Egyptians are most pleased with the issuance of birth certificates, believing it is the best e-government servicesin 2022.

A poll conducted by the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) showed that 12.1 percent of the surveyed persons think the issuance of birth certificates was the best service last year.

Nine percent said that the replacement of lost ID cards was the second best electronic service offered by the government in 2022.

Automated notary came third with 7.4 percent giving their thumbs up to the service.

The survey was conducted in December of last year and covered adult Egyptians aging 18 years old and up. It was meant to determine how much Egyptians use and benefit from electronic services.

Some citizens, about 6.6 percent, believe that online traffic services were good in 2022; with 6.3 percent particularly pleased with the online enquiry service on traffic tickets.

About 29.4 percent of those surveyed think that other services were better in 2022.

The IDSC underlined the importance of technology, saying it has become an imperative means that should be relied on with the finest details of everyday life. It touched upon the quantum leap achieved in technology and the global movement toward digital transformation.

The Egyptian State has been giving big attention to automating all government services and activating financial inclusion, the IDSC noted.
